Amazing Mexican Food & the BEST Churro Cheesecake! I absolutely loved dining at Zapata s! The atmosphere was vibrant, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious. While everything we tried was great, the real star of the show was the churro cheesecake—it was incredible! The perfect mix of creamy cheesecake and churro flavors. A must-try! I highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican cuisine and unforgettable desserts. Can’t wait to come back!

First of all the interior and art is gorgeous. Our server tonight was genuinely sweet and sincere, very “cool mom” vibes even though we got there about an hour before closing and it was extremely busy due to it being Mother’s Day weekend. I hate I didn’t catch her name. All this good energy all the while she was working a 10 person table in our section in the back corner. The food was out of this world. I was initially weirded out by the salsa put on the table bc it had pineapple in it, but it was actually really delicious. The lady who waited on us literally read my mind and without me asking, offered the salsa verde which had more heat and was exquisite. I always test a new place by trying a basic taco salad - far from basic, my friend got some kind of braised pork dish which was again out of this world. The presentation of the food alone was also gorgeous. The rest of the staff was very friendly. All this and we spent about 30 a person and it was 30 because we got Chori-queso and a margarita plus our plates. which is pretty good for Lake Norman. No doubt, new favorite spot. My only regret is I didn’t have enough room to try the churro cheesecake :)

Been driving past this restaurant for years, decided to stop by today and my only regret is that I didn't try this place sooner. The food was easily 10/10, portions were big and prices were very good. For 2 people we paid a total of about 35 dollars and we were absolutely stuffed. The chips and salsa were the best I ever had. This is without a doubt the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The waitress/server was very pleasant and never missed a beat. 20/10 restaurant!

Food was great. As good as any. The smoky salsa with onion chunks was very good. Service was good until our server forgot to bring us the check. We finally gave up and proceeded to the cashier.

We really enjoyed the food here. The portions were so big, the flavors were really good and the food was hot! I also love that they served real guacamole and sour cream with my meal vs having to ask for it. I ordered a chimichanga, my husband ordered a burrito and my Mil ordered a quesadilla. We were just passing through or we would for sure be back for yummy Mexican eats!

I walked in, sat down. After 6-7 minutes, STILL absolutely NO ONE came to my table or spoke to me. After sitting & looking around, waiting to get my order taken, I grabbed the hostess wiping the menus down to get SOME help, saw my waitress sitting down chilling. My time is precious at lunch and just needed things to get moving. The ENTIRE visit, my waitress did not speak to me. I am not happy with my time here today, the price I paid to get No refill since I had to leave to eat my food at work. not a good look for busy weekday at LUNCH hour.
